Typical Food and Wine
Each seaside or country village in Italy has its own history, church, square,
municipality and above all its typical dish. Like in few other places in the world,
sitting at the table doesn’t simply satisfy a physical need, it’s a rite, a sacred
celebration of the local culinary art, in which Italians identify and take pride in.
-
Olive Ascolane , fried olives stuffed with meat, already well
known and appreciated by the Latins. -
Brodetto alla Sambenedettese, fish soup served with fried or
toasted bread. -
Caciuni, must ring cakes.
-
Piconi, ravioli filled with cheese , just to mention some.
-
Mushrooms and truffles are frequently used ingredients for
this region’s special dishes such as the home made taglierini
seasoned with truffles . Old cooking traditions from Marche
teach that the right wine is necessary to complete and refine
the dish. -
Piceno is the land of Falerio, and Rosso Piceno, both
Doc wines . Many local wineries have transformed the secular
history, knowledge and art in this field into a very successful
business.
